AKP SR Investigator Maybe 'Returned' To The Police After The Extortion Case Against Mayor Of Tanjungbalai

JAKARTA - The National Police has the opportunity to repatriate AKP SR who is assigned to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). This is in the aftermath of an alleged extortion case against the Mayor of Tanjungbalai, Syahrial, amounting to IDR 1.5 billion.

"The possibility will also occur when it is deemed inappropriate at the KPK of all kinds because the violations will be returned to the National Police", said Head of Police Public Relations Division Brigadier General Rusdi Hartono to reporters, Thursday, April 22.

If later withdrawn to the Police, AKP SR will undergo a series of investigations at The Police's Professional and Security Division. Because his actions related to the alleged extortion have violated the rules.

"Later, the National Police will certainly process these members", he said.

But until now, Rusdi has not been able to confirm the steps that the Police will take. Because currently, the handling of this case is fully within the authority of the KPK. Including the question of possible dismissal of AKP SR.

"We will see the development later. To what extent and will be carried out, we will wait for the process", said Rusdi.

The SR AKP was secured by The Police's Professional and Security Division and the KPK on Tuesday, April 20. He was arrested for allegedly extorting the Mayor of Tanjungbalai, Syahrial.

This extortion was carried out to stop the case from being investigated by the KPK. As for the city, the anti-corruption commission is indeed investigating the alleged bribery related to the auction of positions at the Tanjungbalai City Government in 2019.
