Present At The Launch, Chairman Of The House Of Representatives Hopes BPI Danantara Brings Welfare To The People

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, attended the launch of the Anagata Nusantara Power Investment Management Agency (Danantara) which was held at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, Monday, February 24.

Puan hopes that the launch of the Danantara, which is marked by the issuance of a new regulation by President Prabowo Subianto, can bring prosperity to the people.

"Congratulations on the launch of the Danantara by the government. Hopefully it can move the national economy," said Puan in her statement, Monday, February 24.

In addition to being able to drive the national economy, Puan hopes that Danantara can also improve people's welfare.

"Through Danantara, we hope to have a positive impact on economic growth in the country which ultimately brings prosperity to the people," said Bung Karno's grandson.

To note, BPI Danantara was formed after the revision of Law (UU) Number 19 of 2003 concerning State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) was agreed upon by the DPR on February 4. The new SOE Law includes the arrangement of duties and functions of the Danantara as the Investment Management Agency (BPI).

BPI Danantara was inaugurated in line with the enactment of the BUMN Law by the President and the issuance of Government Regulation number 10 of 2025 concerning Organizations and Governance of the Anagata Nusantara Power Management Agency and Presidential Decree (Keppres) Number 30 of 2025 concerning the Appointment of the Supervisory Board and the Implementing Body of the Indonesian Archipelago Investment Management Agency.

Danantara is a capital management agency in BUMN. Funds managed by Danantara will be used to finance sustainable and high-impact projects in various sectors, such as renewable energy, advanced manufacturing, downstream industry, and food production.

President Prabowo is known to want this investment agency to operate similar to the Temasek holding company from Singapore.

Puan also advised BPI Danaantara to carry out its functions properly, including to become a catalyst for increasing investment in Indonesia.

"The antara must bring as much benefit as possible for the nation and state," concluded Puan.

When launching the Danantara, President Prabowo thanked the Indonesian House of Representatives, especially to Puan. President Prabowo said, Danantara would not be launched without the support of the DPR.

"Thank you, the chairman of the DPR and everything," said Prabowo.
