Wrath At Trial, Rizieq Shihab Points To The Prosecutor: You Are Criminalizing The Prophet's Birthday

JAKARTA - Rizieq Shihab was furious at the follow-up hearing of the alleged crowd and health protocol violations in Petamburan. Rizieq briefly pointed to the public prosecutor by calling them criminals the Prophet's Birthday.

Rizieq Shihab's anger was expressed when he was allowed to ask a question to the witness of the Civil Service Police Unit Jakarta, Arifin regarding whether or not there were any cases of health protocol violations that were brought to trial.

"Among the health protocol violations, there were none that were brought to court, such as the Petamburan case", Rizieq asked during a trial at the East Jakarta District Court, Thursday, April 22.

Arifin replied by emphasizing that all health protocol violations were prosecuted according to the rules.

Hearing that answer, Rizieq repeated his question about the health protocol violations that were being prosecuted.

"Does that mean all other health protocol violations are subject to sanctions?", asked Rizieq.

Suddenly, the prosecutor responded to the question by asking the panel of judges to reprimand Rizieq. The reason was that Rizieq's question was seen as leading the witnesses.

"Our permission from the Panel is our objection that the defendant has directed or led from the witnesses", said the prosecutor.

But Rizieq Shihab refused if his question was considered leading to the witness's answer. In fact, he asked the prosecutor to explain the form of distraction from the question he asked.

Meanwhile, the prosecutor remained adamant that his view on Rizieq had led to the witness's answer.

"This is leading. This is already driving", said the prosecutor.

Because of the prosecutor's statement, Rizieq Shihab was furious. He got up from his chair and pointed at the prosecutor while offending the prosecutor convicting the Prophet's birthday.

"You are criminalizing Maulid Nabi, that is what you are worried about. You are afraid, you are afraid. Do not do your birthday of the Prophet, there is no other process that has been prosecuted in court. You are the one who has criminalized the Prophet's birthday", said Rizieq.

The debate between Rizieq and the prosecutor was stopped by the panel of judges. Both parties were asked to calm down.
