Due To An Accident On The Tegal Toll Road, 2 Couriers Carrying Drugs 12 Kg Were Arrested By The Police

Central Java Police revealed the shipment of 12 kg of methamphetamine-type drugs which began with a car traffic accident carrying two couriers on the toll road in the Tegal area.

Director of Drug Investigation at the Central Java Police, Kombes M Anwar Nasir, said the two couriers assigned to deliver the drugs were arrested along with 12 kg of crystal methamphetamine evidence.

The disclosure began when the two couriers with the initials SN (30) and HS (42) departed from Lampung after taking a shabu order. on February 17, 2025. Sabu is planned to be sent to Surabaya.

"While crossing the roller section in the Tegal area, the car the two suspects were traveling in hit a truck," he said in Semarang, quoted from Antara, Friday, February 21.

Before officers arrived to evacuate at the accident site, the suspect tried to dispose of the bag containing the methamphetamine around the toll road. However, the perpetrator's efforts were seen by the truck driver involved in the accident.

Long story short, the officers finally secured the methamphetamine. Officers are also still investigating the possibility of other methamphetamine weighing 5 kg which was also brought by the perpetrators.

"It is still being investigated, when one of the perpetrators came to the hospital to visit his colleague who was being treated, there were two packages of methamphetamine that were allegedly left around the hospital," he said.

For their actions, the two suspects were charged with Law 35 of 2009 concerning drugs.
