Unihaz Bengkulu Deactivates Dean Of The Faculty Of Law Related To Fraud Cases Of 91 Students

JAKARTA - The University of Hazairin (Unihaz) Bengkulu deactivated the Dean of the Faculty of Law (FH) Alauddin regarding the fraud case as many as 93 students failed to go to carry out industrial work practices (Prakerin) to Malang and Yogyakarta on Monday 17 February.

"We are talking that based on the information, investigations, and results of the meeting, there must be things that make this decision come out," said Unihaz Bengkulu Chancellor Arifah Hidayati in Bengkulu City, Friday, February 21, as reported by Antara.

He said the dismissal of the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Unihaz Bengkulu was not due to the alleged flow of funds amounting to Rp45 million sent by the CV Lautan Biru Nusantara (LBN) as a travel service used by the Faculty of Law to carry out pre-kerin activities.

However, the Dean was deactivated for several reasons so that the Semarak Bengkulu Foundation was responsible for Unihaz Bengkulu.

"I don't care about that, so of course in our staffing regulations, in the rules of the organization in this Unihaz, it is comprehensively and complicated. So it's not because (it is suspected of receiving Rp45 million) the Dean was disabled," he explained.

Meanwhile, the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Unihaz Bengkulu Alauddin, explained that the Rp45 million money was available and was still stored at the faculty, apart from that, the money was not used for personal gain, but for the purposes of lecturers who delivered it, including for the campus when they arrived at the Prakerin location, namely in Malang and Yogyakarta.

"I remain strong, and whatever risks I face, because the position is a mandate but if the procedure is not in accordance with the rules, I will definitely file a lawsuit. So far I have accepted it gracefully," he said.

Previously, the Bengkulu City Resort Police (Polresta), Bengkulu Province carried out security or detention of two leaders of the Blue Ocean Nusantara (LBN) travel services, namely the Director with the initials FL and assistant Director with the initials TL who is husband and wife.

The detention was carried out after the Bengkulu Police Criminal Investigation Unit (Sat Reskrim) received a report from a lecturer at Dehasen University (Unihaz) Bengkulu regarding the alleged fraud committed by the two individuals which caused 93 students from the Faculty of Law to fail to leave for pre-creation to Yogyakarta Province and Malang City.

"Monday (17 February 2025), we (Bengkulu Police) received a complaint from Unihaz regarding the alleged fraud committed by CV Lautan Biru Nusantara (LBN)," explained Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Bengkulu Police AKP Sujud Alif Yulam Lam.

Based on the results of the clarification that has been made, it is known that both of them have handed over Rp211 million to third parties to take care of the purchase of plane tickets for the departure of Unihaz students and lecturers, with a total of Rp531 million to the travel service agency for aircraft costs, bus travel costs and lodging costs.
