JAKARTA - The Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) Zainudin Amali stated that he would directly oversee the implementation of the grand design of the national sport. This escort is a commitment from the Ministry of Youth and Sports in advancing Indonesian sports.

"I will certainly directly oversee the implementation of the grand design of this national sport, because this has become our commitment," said the Minister of Youth and Sport Amali in a coordination meeting on 'Realizing Sports Talent Towards the 2032 Olympics through Youth Sports Centers,' virtually from the Situation Room, Floor 9, Kemenpora, Jakarta, Wednesday, April 21.

The Menpora explained that the grand design of a national sport had also been discussed with President Joko Widodo in a limited cabinet meeting at the State Palace, Jakarta in March 2021.

According to him, the grand design aims to produce world champions from the country in the future. In fact, the Menpora Amali has conducted a public test with several Indonesian experts, academics, and sports stakeholders.

In addition, said Amali, the grand design of national sports also aims at tiered achievements. Because, he said, there must be athletes who can follow their senior achievements in the future.

"It is true that all stakeholders must jointly contribute in fostering achievement. People must be in good shape so that it is easy to get talents which will later be encouraged to become outstanding athletes, ”explained Menpora Amali.

Therefore, Menpora Amali reminded his staff to work together both internally and with other ministries / agencies.

"What we aim at and target in the grand design of national sports is expected to take shape immediately. From now on we must have moved to take concrete steps. With cooperation, the results will be visible. This will also be our guideline in the future, "said Menpora Amali.
