MAKASSAR - A man in Takalar Regency, South Sulawesi, persecuted the mosque imam. The perpetrator beat the victim with a machete because he was offended by the content of the victim's lecture.

"It is true that the perpetrator was offended, because the victim always asked to pray, he said, he was offended," said Takalar Police Public Relations Officer Ipda Sumarwan to reporters, Wednesday, April 21.

The stabbing took place on Monday, 19 April evening in Saro Village, Galesong Selatan District, Takalar. The perpetrator suddenly immediately attacked and mistreated the victim.

"The abuse was at that time the victim was buying meatballs, suddenly the perpetrator came on a motorbike. The perpetrator immediately stopped his motorbike and immediately beat the victim," continued Ipda Sumarwan.

After stabbing, the perpetrator left the victim at the scene. The victim is currently being treated at a hospital in Takalar.

"After carrying out the action, the victim surrendered himself and is currently detained at the police station (Polsek). Meanwhile, the current victim is also getting better," said Sumarwan.
