Riau's BP3MIjeliance Failed To Send 3 CPMI To Cambodia, Allegedly Admin Judol

3 CPMIs that were thwarted from leaving for Cambodia (DOK BP3MI Riau)

JAKARTA - Riau's Indonesian Migrant Worker Protection Service Center (BP3MI) thwarted the delivery of three illegal Indonesian migrant workers (CPMI) to Cambodia on Sunday, February 16.

Allegations are temporary, the three of them want to be dispatched to be used as online gambling admins or involved in fraud or scammers. Three illegal CPMIs, based on the official statement of BP3MI Riau, received an offer to work with a salary of Rp. 12 million per month from a colleague.

"About 2 weeks ago, each CPMI received information from a friend in Cambodia and offered a salary of Rp. 12 million/month," as quoted from the official release of BP3MI Riau received in Jakarta, Tuesday, February 18.

Based on information from illegal CPMIs, they will depart for Cambodia via Muar, Malaysia from Dumai Port, Riau. Illegal CPMIs say there are two unknown people who take care of their departure from Dumai Port to Malaysia.

"Sunday, February 16, 2025, three CPMIs arrived in Dumai and were immediately picked up by two unknown people and took the three CPMIs to the 'Dumai Berkah Samudera' counter, the purchase of a ticket to Dumai-Muar destination. Then distributed RM 300, Passports and tickets to go to Muar and deliver to Dumai's international passenger terminal," wrote the report by BP3MI Riau.

After hearing the destination countries of the CPMIs, BP3MI Riau decided to postpone their journey. Because, they are suspected of working as fraudsters or online gambling admins.

"On this basis, Immigration together with KemenP2MI postponed their departure because it was suspected that they would work illegally in Cambodia (scammer, online gambling)," wrote a report from BP3MI Riau.

Riau BP3MI officers then provided education regarding the procedure for going to work legally abroad and were given information regarding the number of victims of fraud working in Cambodia.

"Furthermore, the three CPMI/PMI were taken to the P4MI helpdesk at Dumai Port to be given education and information on how to work procedurally abroad and provided information about the number of victims of fraud working in Cambodia," wrote the report by BP3MI Riau.

Then, they were handed over to the Indonesian Migrant Worker Protection Service Post (P4MI) to be assisted in the repatriation process to their area of origin. The Dumai Police handed over the three CPMIs to the Dumai P4MI Office for the repatriation process of migrant workers," he said.
