Foreign Ministry Says Iran Doesn't Hesitate To Maintain Its Peaceful Nuclear Program

JAKARTA - Iran has maintained its nuclear program and will not hesitate to continue to do so, Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said on Monday, a day after Israel and the United States pledged to fight Iran's nuclear ambitions.

"Iran's peaceful nuclear program is ongoing, and has been going on for the past three decades, based on Iran's rights as a member of the Nuclear Weapons Non-Proliferation Treaty, we will definitely not show any weakness in this regard," he said.

Earlier, Israel and the United States were determined to thwart Iran's nuclear ambitions and its influence in the Middle East, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Sunday after meeting with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Jerusalem.

Earlier, Foreign Minister Rubio arrived in Israel on Saturday night local time on his first visit to the Middle East.
