The Attorney General's Office (AGO) has decided to submit a case related to the sea fence that stretches for 30.9 kilometers in Tangerang waters to the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Police.
This decision was taken because the criminal object in the case is considered to have similarities with the one being handled by Bareskrim, which is related to allegations of falsification of ownership certificates (SHM) and building rights certificates (SHGB).
The head of the AGO's Legal Information Center, Harli Siregar, explained that the reports received from the Indonesian Anti-Corruption Society (MAKI) focused on criminal acts similar to those being investigated by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Police.
"The National Police is currently investigating whether there are allegations of forgery in this case, so we prioritize it first," he said on Monday, February 17.
Even though he has submitted the handling of the maritime fence case in Tangerang to the Criminal Investigation Unit, Harli emphasized that the AGO is still overseeing this case. The AGO has the authority to handle it if it is found that there are allegations of gratification or bribery related to certificate forgery.

"We will determine whether this forgery occurred due to bribery or gratification, or pure forgery," he added.
Harli emphasized that the case of the sea fence in Tangerang will not be automatically stopped. Currently, the report is still in the process of being investigated by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Police, and the AGO will continue to monitor developments to ensure whether this case can develop into allegations of corruption or not.
