MPR Surprised Gus Dur's Name Until Prabowo's Father Is Not In The History Dictionary, Ba'asyir Even Appears

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of the MPR from the PPP faction Arsul Sani highlighted a number of controversies that have been made by the Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud) recently.

According to him, the ministry led by Nadiem Makarim actually adds to the political burden for President Jokowi, especially among Muslims.

The controversy includes the absence or absence of religious phrases in the draft / draft national education road map (PJPN). Second, Pancasila and Indonesian are not listed in government regulations, namely PP. 57 of 2021 concerning National Education Standards.

Third, about the loss of the name of the founder of NU and the national hero KH Hasyim Asyari from an online history book or dictionary published and managed by the Directorate of History, Directorate General of Culture - Kemendikbud.

The PPP Deputy Chairperson revealed that a number of Nahdhiyin circles, especially those who are members of the Nahdhiyin Professional Circle (NU Circle) told him that it was not only KH Hasyim Asyari's name that did not appear in the Ministry of Education and Culture's online historical dictionary.

The name of the 4th President Abdurrahman Wahid alias Gus Dur was not included. It is known, Gus Dur is the grandson of the founder of NU.

"The name Gus Dur is also not positioned as a central figure that is published separately in historical events," said Arsul.

In addition, there are other names of figures who have also been removed. Like the name of the father of the Minister of Defense Prabowo Subianto, Soemitro Djojohadikusumo, who was also instrumental in the era of President Soeharto's administration.

"The names of General Sumitro and Prabowo Subianto's biological father, Soemitro Djojohadikusumo, and an Islamic figure who is also a member of the PPKI, Abdul Kahar Muzakir," he continued.

Regarding Gus Dur, Arsul explained that the Father of Pluralism was not included in the Historical Dictionary. His name was only raised to complement the history of several figures, such as the figure Ali Alatas who was appointed as Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs during Gus Dur's administration. It is also said to complement the history of the figures of Megawati Soekarnoputri and Widjojo Nitisastro.

Arsul was actually surprised by the appearance of the name Abu Bakar Ba'asyir in a row of historical figures in the dictionary. In fact, he said, a number of elements of society questioned him as the leader of the Indonesian MPR over the appearance of the name Abu Bakar Ba'asyir which is listed on page 11.

"Why does the name of this former terrorist inmates who refuse to make a statement of allegiance to the Pancasila ideology appear as a figure in the dictionary published by the History Directorate of the Directorate General of Culture, Ministry of Education and Culture?" Said Arsul.

Instead of reducing it, Arsul said that the Ministry of Education and Culture is actually increasing the burden on President Jokowi. Especially before the discourse on cabinet reshuffle volume 2.
