Six people died in a fire at the hotel resort construction site in the port city of Busan, South Korea. Helicopters were used to rescue about 14 people after they took shelter on the roof.

The Busan Fire & Disaster Headquarters said about 100 people were evacuated at a large construction site, where work was being carried out in three 12-story-high buildings above the ground and three underground.

Reported by Reuters on Friday, February 14, Busan firefighters said via live television broadcasts about 25 people suffered minor injuries, including some from inhaling smoke.

The fire department said the blaze appeared to have come from isolation material loaded near the indoor swimming pool area on the first floor of one of the buildings.

South Korean President Choi Sang-mok ordered all available resources to extinguish the fire.
