Injured Victims Due To Mini Cooper Collision Of Crowds In Germany Munich Increased To 20 People

JAKARTA - The number of victims injured by the car hit a crowd in Munich, Germany, increasing to 20 people.

The incident comes as Munich prepares for a high-level security conference to be attended by US Vice President JD Vance and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy.

The Bild newspaper said police had to determine whether the Mini Cooper driver accidentally hit the crowd or stepped on the gas pedal or the brakes.

Police said they were detaining the driver. But there is no explanation whether this incident was a pure accident or a tenor.

At least 20 people were injured, some of whom were serious and critical, a Munich police spokesman said.

Munich's Security Conference began on Friday and senior officials, including Vance and Zelenskiy, arrived on Thursday evening.

A large-scale police operation is underway near the city center train station.

One person was lying on the street and a young man had been taken away by the police. People sat on the street, crying and shaking," wrote a local BR broadcast reporter in a post on X.

The incident appears to have an impact on people participating in demonstrations related to a strike organized by Verdi's union, according to the television station.

The unions said they did not have any information about the incident.
