A Child In Aceh Becomes An Online Gambling Dealer, Arrested During Transaction

JAKARTA - Operational personnel for the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Banda Aceh Police have arrested four chip (coin) dealers for the online game Higgs Domino, one of whom is a minor.

"They were arrested while transacting online gambling with domino chips at the counter selling mobile phone credit," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Banda Aceh Police, AKP M Ryan Citra Yudha, in Banda Aceh, as reported by Antara, Tuesday, April 20.

Ryan said that when the arrest was made, it turned out that the dealer was a minor with student status at a school in Aceh Besar District.

The four chip sellers were secured, namely AFD (30), ASR (29), and EDI (29) and the minor, namely MUZ (16).

Ryan said that the arrests were made after information from residents regarding the rampant buying and selling activity of online game chips.

"From the hands of the chip dealers, the personnel also seized evidence in the form of cellphones and money for selling online gambling chips, higgs domino," he said.

Ryan said, for all the confiscated evidence, there were approximately 100 billion domino chips and money, and the perpetrators were secured to the Islamic Sharia police to be processed in accordance with the applicable qanun (regulations).

"For the four perpetrators, they are charged with Article 20 in conjunction with Article 18 in conjunction with Article 6 paragraph 1 Aceh Qanun Number 6 of 2014 concerning the Law of Jinayat," Ryan also said.
