The budget cuts were carried out by a number of ministries/agencies, as a result of Presidential Instruction (Inpres) Number 1 of 2025 which also had an impact on the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK).

With a budget ceiling of IDR 220 billion, the Ministry of Finance also asked LPSK to make efficiency of IDR 144 billion or 62% of the original ceiling.

Responding to the impact of budget efficiency, the LPSK Employee Association held a demonstration in its office yard in Ciracas, East Jakarta, Monday, February 10.

The chairman of the LPSK Employee Association, Tomy Permana, said that several messages conveyed to the leadership, among others, encouraged them to dare to convey the moratorium on protection services.

"LPSK will find it difficult to provide protection for witnesses and victims with the remaining budget," he said, Monday, February 10.

Another problem they raised, continued Tomy, asked the LPSK leadership to immediately implement work from anywhere (WFA) for employees.

Due to the impact of efficiency, he continued, a number of work facilities in the office were reduced, such as electricity and others.

Tomy told the leadership element that the efficiency of this budget should not touch the issue of reducing employees and their rights. Including those who are contract employees and outsourcing.
