Budget Efficiency, DPR Postpones Commission XIII Meeting With Ministry Of Immipas

JAKARTA - The working meeting between Commission XIII of the DPR and the Minister of Immigration and Corrections (Imipas) which is scheduled to take place on Monday, February 10, at 10.00 WIB, was canceled.

This delay is in line with an appeal from the leadership of the DPR asking all commissions to postpone the meeting related to discussing budget efficiency.

Deputy Chairman of Commission XIII of the DPR, Andreas Hugo Pareira, confirmed the notification regarding the delay. "Yes, there is a notification in the commission group," Andreas said when confirmed, Monday, February 10.

This working meeting should discuss the strategic policies of the Ministry of Imipas, including work plans and budgets for 2025, granting amnesty and transfer of prisoners, as well as monitoring immigration traffic and other actual issues.

Andreas also stated that there was no certainty regarding when this meeting would be rescheduled. "It will be confirmed again with partners," he said.

Previously, a circular was circulated signed by the Deputy Speaker of the DPR, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, regarding the postponement of this meeting. The letter stated that there were requests from various ministries and institutions to postpone the discussion of budget efficiency, given the government's ongoing budget reconstruction.

With this request, the leadership of the DPR asked all commissions from Commission I to Commission XIII to postpone the discussion of budget efficiency with their partners.

"If there is a commission that has discussed budget efficiency with partners, then they are asked to hold a meeting again after the partners receive the latest reconstruction budget allocation," said the contents of the circular dated February 7.
