HPN 2025: Increase Health Awareness Through Communication

JAKARTA Health problems require integrated attention in order to reduce the suffering of the community. Healthy people are the main pillar of the country's sovereignty.

The spirit of collaboration between medical, non-medical, and press personnel is part of an effort to create a healthier and more prosperous life. In order to support this goal, the Indonesian Health and Press Care Foundation was established.

The foundation's declaration coincided with the commemoration of the 2025 National Press Day (HPN) which took place on Sunday, February 9, in the Jakarta Weltevreden Cultural Heritage area, Pasar Baru, Central Jakarta.

"At this moment of HPN commemoration, we established a foundation involving health experts and practitioners as well as members of the press as organizers of mass communication," said Maj. Gen. (Ret.) Hipdizah in an event at the Antara Heritage Center Building with six other founders.

In Indonesia, a foundation that specifically accommodates health and press activists is still very rare. This was conveyed by Syahrial, who is also one of the founders of the foundation.

The total founders of this foundation amounted to eight people, namely Hipdizah, Syahrial, Saptadji, Gracecielia Piscesianta, Mahesa Paranadipa Maykel, Hadi Filino Gunarto, Juli Mona Ganiem, and M. Iqbal Irsyad who were unable to attend.

In addition, Dudi Herianto was also present as an administrator, although not the founder of Ario Djatmiko, who was also part of the management, unable to attend the event.

One of the problems that this foundation pays attention to is the failure to communicate in treatment that can be fatal for patients. One example is the case of tuberculosis (TBC).

"TB treatment procedures take years, but often become in vain because patients do not understand messages or regulations related to the consumption of drugs that must be done regularly," said Mahesa.

In fact, Indonesia ranks second in the highest number of TB sufferers in the world, and this condition is very concerning.

This foundation, led by dr. Saptadji, is optimistic that it can help overcome weaknesses in health communication. One of the reasons is the involvement of press personnel under the auspices of the Press Council.
