BPBD Says Burned Land In West Aceh Has Reached 5,000 Square Meters

MEULABOH - It is recorded that the area of peatlands burned in Suak Uleue Village, Arongan Lambalek District has reached 5,000 square meters. This is according to data from the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of West Aceh Regency, Aceh Province.

"Efforts to extinguish the fire are still being carried out," said Acting Head of BPBD West Aceh Regency Teuku Ronal in West Aceh, as reported by ANTARA, Saturday night, February 8.

In order to make efforts to extinguish the fire, his party has deployed 15 personnel to the land fire site, after previously being reported by the community regarding land fires.

So far, his party does not know for sure the cause of the land fire, because it is still focused on extinguishing the fire at the location.

The teams involved in this blackout effort include West Aceh BPBD officers, TNI, Polri, elements of Arongan Lambalek District and the community around the fire site.

His party deployed a fleet of firefighters to the scene, including bringing a number of supporting facilities to facilitate the effort to extinguish the fire at the location of the fire.

He said the burned land belonged to the community and did not belong to the corporation.

Teuku Ronal said that if it is guided by information on weather forecasts published by Meulaboh BMKG Station, currently the western coast of Aceh is prone to hydrometeorological disasters, which tend to experience very dry drought. especially during the day.

Therefore, the West Aceh BPBD asks people whose areas have a lot of peatlands or are prone to forest and land fires, so as not to clear land by burning.
