Transjakarta Affirms Official Cars Can Enter The Busway Line Only Heads Of State

JAKARTA - PT Transjakarta has opened its voice regarding official vehicles of state officials entering the busway route and causing various comments from netizens on social media.

Most recently, the car with the RI 24 license plate with the number 15 on the end of its plate was caught on camera and went viral on social media. The car broke through the Transjakarta bus line with a police officer escort car.

Director of Safety and Operations of PT Transjakarta Daud Joseph explained that the state official who is allowed to enter the busway route is always the President of the Republic of Indonesia. Then, other vehicles that can pass through the Transjakarta route only during an emergency.

"There are some who are allowed to enter the route, for example in an emergency, then the head of state is allowed. But outside of that, they are not allowed to enter from within," Joseph told reporters, Friday, February 7.

Joseph admitted that Transjakarta as the BUMD manager of public transportation modes does not have the authority to take action against vehicles other than Transjakarta buses that break through the busway route. Transjakarta only places its officers to maintain access with portals.

"In Transjakarta, we do not take action. First, we will make sure the separator is in every gap so that no one enters," said Joseph.

In addition, Transjadjanta will also cooperate with the police to ticket vehicles through the busway route by detecting E-TLE cameras.

"The third is a collaboration with the police unit for the general public so as not to enter and the military police if there are members of the TNI who enter, later military police can take action," he concluded.
