Firli Bahuri Cs Refuses To Make Hasto Kristiyanto A Suspect, Immediately Change Investigators

JAKARTA - Former Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) for the 2019-2024 period, Firli Bahuri and other leaders are said to have disagreed with the Secretary General of the PDI-P (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto, who was named a suspect in the interim replacement bribery (PAW) case of the DPR for the 2019-2024 period.

In fact, the investigative team that handled the case was replaced.

This was conveyed by the KPK Legal Bureau team when reading out the response to the petitum of Hasto Kristiyanto's camp at the pretrial hearing at the South Jakarta District Court.

Initially, the KPK Legal Bureau team conveyed about investigators trying to seal one of the rooms at the DPIP DPP office. However, it failed due to resistance.

"After failing to arrest the hands of Harun Masiku and the Petitioner, the Respondent team headed to the PDI-P DPP Office to seal the room but it was blocked by security officers," said a member of the KPK Legal Bureau team, Thursday, February 6.

Due to failure, investigators returned to the KPK's Red and White building. Then, held an exposure with the KPK leadership, namely Firli Bahuri Cs.

In this exposure, the prosecution team explained the events and construction of cases in detail and in sequence, including the role of Hasto Kristiyanto. However, the leadership did not agree if the legal status of the PDIP Secretary General was increased as a suspect.

"But at that time the leadership had not agreed to raise the status of the Petitioner as a suspect because he was waiting for the progress of the investigation results," he said.

At that time, the KPK leadership only agreed that there were four suspects in the case. They are bribes and bribe recipients.

"That at the time of exposure it was decided only to raise it to an investigation with two investigation warrants and 4 suspects. Namely the suspect who gave the bribe Harun Masiku together with Saeful Bahri," he said.

"Meanwhile, the suspect who received the bribe was Wahyu Setiawan as the KPU Commissioner together with Agustiani Tio Fridelina. That in this case Harun Masiku still could not be secured because he fled," he continued.

After not agreeing, Firli Bahuri Cs instead changed the position of the Investigation Task Force for the Harun Masiku case to handle the DPR PAW case. However, it was not conveyed about the reasons behind it.

"At that time, the KPK leadership replaced the Investigation Task Force with another Investigation Task Force," said a member of the KPK Legal Bureau team.
