JAKARTA - Palestinian militant group Hamas is ready to establish contact and hold talks with the United States Government under Donald Trump, the RIA news agency quoted senior Hamas officials as saying in a statement published on Wednesday morning.
"We are ready to make contact and talks with the Trump administration," RIA quoted senior member Politburo Hamas Mousa Abu Marzouk as saying.
"Previously, we had no objection to in contact with the (former US President Joe) Biden, Trump or other US governments, and we are open to holding talks with all international parties," he added.
It is not clear when RIA interviewed Marzouk. However, he visited Hamas on Monday to hold talks with the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Marzouk told RIA talks with the US had become a necessity for Hamas, considering Washington is a key player in the Middle East.
"That's why we welcome talks with America and don't mind this issue."
