KKB Member Of Aske Mabel's Chaining Arrested, 2 Senpi Of Yalimo Police Who Were Taken Away Arrested

JAKARTA - The Cartenz Peace Operations Task Force arrested a member of an armed criminal group or KKB led by Aske Mabel and secured two organic firearms belonging to the Yalimo Police.

The KKB member of the Aske Mabel KKB gang named Okoni Siep alias Nikson Matuan was arrested on Sunday, February 2. In addition to confiscating the two rifles that had been taken away since June 2024, 46 rounds of ammunition were also confiscated.

"Yes, that's right, the Cartenz Peace Task Force has confiscated two of the four AK 47 organic firearms that were taken away by Askel Mabel, a former member of the Yalimo Police," said Head of the Cartenz Peace Task Force Brigadier General Pol Faizal Rahmadani in his statement, Monday, February 3, quoted by Antara.

In addition, members also confiscated a black OPPO A18 cellphone which allegedly belonged to Korinus victim Yohanis Wentken and a document requesting assistance with an organizational logo owned by the KKB.

From the results of the investigation, it was revealed that Okoni Siep was suspected of being involved in the shooting of victims Muktar Layuk (MD) and Korinus Yohanis Wentken (victim of survivors) on November 5, 2024 on Jalan Trans Wamena-Jayapura, Hobakma Village, Yalimo Regency.

"This arrest is part of law enforcement efforts against armed criminal groups that continue to disrupt security in the Land of Papua, and will paralyze the perpetrators and their networks," he said.
