National Police Chief Appoints Brigadier General Asep Safruddin As The Riau Islands Police Chief

BATAM - National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo appointed Brigadier General Asep Safrudin as Head of Riau Islands Regional Police (Kapolda Kepri) replacing Inspector General Yan Fitri Halimansyah who was entering retirement.

The Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police, Inspector General Sandi Nugroho, confirmed that the appointment of the Riau Islands Police Chief contained a list of mutations and rotations of high-ranking officers (pati) and middle-ranking officers (pamen) within the Bhayangkara Corps.

"There was a transfer telegram letter on January 31, 2025, Number ST/200/I/2025," Sandi was quoted as saying by ANTARA, Saturday, February 1.

According to Sandi, in the police chief's telegram letter there were six personnel who were transferred.

The six personnel, two of whom are the main officials (PJU) of the National Police Headquarters, namely Inspector General Imam Sugianto, who was appointed as Astamaops to replace Komjen Verdianto Iskandar Bitticaca, who is entering retirement.

Then Brigadier General Agus Suryonugroho was appointed as the Head of the Traffic Corps (Kakorlantas) of the National Police replacing Inspector General Aan Suhanan who also entered retirement.

"Promotion of the Riau Islands Police Chief Brigadier General Asep Safrudin," said Sandi.

Sandi said the handover of the positions of the Riau Islands Police Chief and other PJUs would be held this afternoon at the National Police Headquarters Rupatama led by the National Police Chief.

"It is true that the plan for this afternoon at four o'clock (sertijab) was immediately led by the National Police Chief," said Sandi.

With the handover of this position, Brigadier General. Asep Safrudin officially serves as the Riau Islands Police Chief, while his promotion as a two-star police general is still waiting for a letter from the President.

The promotion was marked by an unscheduled conflict report report (enforcement of rank) ceremony because it was still waiting for a letter from the president.
