South Jakarta Police Chief Denies Receiving IDR 400 Million From Prodia Boss's Son

South Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Ade Rahmat Idnal denied the statement by the Prodia boss's attorney who said he had received Rp400 million.

Ade Rahmat said that there was indeed a meeting related to the request that the murder case at a hotel in Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta (South Jakarta) be stopped.

"(Receiving Rp400 million) It's not true, it's not true. Meeting me was there immediately, when he asked to have SP3 cases. The case is P21," Ade Rahmat told reporters as reported by ANTARA, Saturday, February 1.

Ade Rahmat explained that he could not help with a case involving someone's life. Ade claimed to refuse the Rp400 million offered by the son of the Prodia boss.

"He offered to be SP3, 'there is still money, there is still 400, 500' money, but I refused. That's why because there was a rejection, the case continued, that's why the person concerned became angry. I continued the case," said Ade Rahmat.

He explained that his meeting with AN and BH was held after the South Jakarta Metro Police held a press conference on the murder case with suspects AN and BH.

"(Meeting) After the case was released. Yes, it was postponed at that time. So he asked to be SP3 because the case was continued, P21. I said I couldn't. Until whenever I will continue the case," said Ade.

Ade Rahmat also admitted that he had given information to the Propam Polda Metro Jaya about this alleged extortion case.

Previously, the Prodia boss's son, Romi Sihombing, opened his voice about the alleged extortion carried out by two former Heads of the Criminal Investigation Unit (Kasat Reskrim) of the South Jakarta Metro Police, AKBP Bintoro and AKBP Gogo Galesung.

Romi initially explained that he wanted to take justice measures. Romi then said that he would reveal the alleged extortion committed by two former Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the South Jakarta Metro Police.

Romi claimed there was also a meeting with the South Jakarta Metro Police Chief. This was known, after he asked a number of witnesses.

"According to our confession and evidence, we are talking about evidence, right, which means there is witness testimony," he said.

There were witnesses who saw a meeting (with the South Jakarta Police Chief). "In the meeting there was an acknowledgment that this leader had received a sum of money," said Romi.
