Palace Denies Viral Video Narrative Of Seskab Major Teddy Respects Men Allegedly Aguan

JAKARTA - Deputy for Protocol, Press and Media of the Presidential Secretariat Yusuf Permana denied the narrative in the viral video which stated that Cabinet Secretary (Seskab) Major Teddy Indra Wijaya paid tribute to businessman Sugianto Kusuma or Aguan.

"That's not true at all, is it," Yusuf told reporters, Thursday, January 23, that Antara had confiscated it.

Yusuf said that the figure who was respected by Major Teddy was Major General Retired. Asro Budi. Asro Budi is Teddy's former superior while still serving in the Indonesian Army's Infantry Armed Forces Center (Pussenif).

"He is a Major General of the TNI Purn. Asro Budi. He used to be the commander of Mr. Seskab while still serving in Pussenif," said Yusuf.

Previously, a video circulated on social media X showing Major Teddy paying tribute to a man suspected of being an Aguan businessman.

One of the accounts that uploaded the video was bantoro_ (@Boediantar4). In the video, Teddy, who was wearing a black suit and cap, approached someone who was narrated as an Aguan entrepreneur.

Teddy then saluted and greeted him. The figure then greeted greetings from Teddy and smiled. In his refusal, the account wrote a narration calling the figure Aguan.

"IT'S EXTRAORDINARY FOR THE CABINET SECRETARY TO RESPECT HIM," HE wrote.
