JAKARTA - Chairman of Commission IV of the House of Representatives, Siti Hediati Hariyadi, who is familiarly called Titiek Suharto and his staff, directly checked the location of the sea fence in Tangerang waters.

During the inspection, Titiek saw for himself how the 30-kilometer-long sea fence prevented fishermen from going to sea.

Titiek said the relevant ministers had agreed to demolish the mysterious marine fence. As ordered by President Prabowo Subianto.

"So we are Commission IV, leaders and chiefs, we went straight to the location to see the horrendous sea fence. And earlier there were also the Minister of KKP, the Minister of ATR BPN, the Minister of Environment, there were KSAL, and Navy officials. We all agreed, the ministers have also ordered the president to dismantle the sea fence," said Titiek, Wednesday, January 22.

Titiek said there were several records regarding the sea fence. He also asked the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries to find out which owners of the sea fence were built close to the PIK 2 project.

"So we ourselves see that it gets in the way of fishermen to earn a living is one, the second is also against the law. This is the sea, this sea does not belong to individuals or belongs to the company, this is state-owned, they are good at fighting," said Titiek. "So thank God we from Commission IV appreciate the government and the authorities to be able to immediately remove the sea fence," he continued.

The deputy chairman of the Gerindra Party's Board of Trustees ensured that his party would continue to monitor the horrendous sea fence. In addition, Commission IV of the DPR will summon the Minister of KKP and the Minister of Forestry to discuss the issue.

"Supervision of course we will continue to supervise. It's not finished for two days. After that, of course, we also have routine activities to call the ministry, yes, later we will ask, where has it come to, whether it's finished or not," concluded Titiek.
