JAKARTA - Members of the Council think that the brutal acts of the armed criminal group (KKB) in Papua that create fear of civilians are categorized as acts of terror.
Member of Commission I House of Representatives Muhammad Farhan asked the government to immediately replace or determine the status of the KKB to become a terrorist group.
"Their actions clearly aim to create fear among civil society, meaning that they have committed criminal acts of terrorism. So it must be dealt with based on the Law on Combating Terrorism or Law No. 5 of 2018", said Farhan, Monday, April 19.
If it is classified as terrorism, Farhan urges the special security apparatus to immediately be deployed to eradicate the group that continues to commit violence and destruction.
"Therefore, the government must firmly revoke the status of the KKB and replace it with a terrorist group that threatens the nation's ideology. So it needs decisive, measurable, and fast action. "Densus 88 and the TNI Anti-Terror Unit can be deployed", explained the Nasdem politician.
