President Prabowo's Agenda Today, Inaugurates The Electricity Strategic Project At The Jatigede Hydropower Plant

President Prabowo Subianto today, Monday, January 20, visited Sumedang Regency, West Java, to inaugurate a number of electricity strategic projects that are ready to operate in 18 provinces, including the capital city of Nusantara (IKN).

Deputy for Protocol, Press and Media of the Presidential Secretariat, Yusuf Permana, said that this inauguration ceremony was centered at the Jatigede hydropower plant, Sumedang.

PLTA Jatigede is a hydroelectric power plant with a capacity of 2x55 megawatts (MW) that utilizes water from the Jatigede Reservoir. This project has been initiated since the era of President Soekarno in 1963 and the groundbreaking was carried out in 2015.

President Prabowo will inaugurate 26 power plants, as well as 11 transmissions and substations spread across 18 provinces, namely Aceh, North Sumatra, Bangka Belitung, South Sumatra, Banten.

Also Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, East Java, Bali, East Nusa Tenggara, South Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, Central Sulawesi, North Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, and IKN.

This inauguration is part of the government's efforts to strengthen national energy security and support electricity needs in various regions, including development in IKN.
