Tjahjo Kumolo Admits Many Losses Of Smart Civil Servants Due To Exposure To Radicalism

JAKARTA - The Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform (MenPAN-RB) Tjahjo Kumolo admitted that he has lost many ASNs who have skills at work.

However, said Tjahjo, the government had to lose because they were exposed to radicalism and terrorism during the academic potential test (TPA).

"We have lost a lot of smart people who should have been able to sit in echelon 1, echelon II, heads of agencies or institutions. But in TPA, he was exposed to the problem of terrorism radicalism," said Tjahjo in a virtual discussion, Sunday, April 18.

It is known, in PAsal 87 Paragraph (4) of Law Number 5 of 2014 concerning ASN it is stated that those who do not agree with Pancasila can get strict sanctions. These sanctions can be removed from office and membership in the civil service.

In fact, Tjahjo said the KemenPAN-RB already had data on exposed civil servants. This has been traced from social media to financial transactions through PPATK.

"This (sanction) is merciless. We already have data on social media, we will hold it both through PPATK and so on. I think we will examine this together," he said.

Previously, the Indonesian Survey Institute (LSI) released the results of a poll of 76.9 percent of civil servants admitted that they did not mind if people of different religions became leaders in the Ministry / institution / regional apparatus organization.

Then there are 78.9 percent of civil servants who admit that they do not mind if people of different religions become Head of sections / divisions.

The rest, 15.1 percent of civil servants admitted that they objected if people of different religions became leaders in the ministries / institutions / regional apparatus organizations. Then, there are 14.1 percent of civil servants who admit their objection if people of different religions become Head of divisions.

"The majority of respondents do not mind if people of different religions become heads of sections / divisions, or become leaders of K / L / Regional Apparatus," said LSI Executive Director Djayadi Hanan when explaining the survey which was conducted from January 3 to March 31.
