Ridwan Kamil: Corruption Suspect Siti Aisyah Is Not My Brother-in-law

JAKARTA - The Governor of West Java (West Java) M Ridwan Kamil or Kang Emil confirmed that the suspect in the West Java Province assistance corruption case for Indramayu Regency, namely Siti Aisyah Tuti Handayani, was not her brother-in-law but Siti Aisyah was the brother-in-law of Ridwan Kamil's wife, Atalia Praratya.

"And I say that it's not my brother-in-law, but my brother-in-law partner, isn't it different," said Kang Emil after the Gala Premier Film Sisterlillah The Movie, at CGV PVJ Bandung, Sunday.

Kang Emil made sure that all of Atalia's siblings were boys, and that there were no girls including Siti Aisyah.

He said that during his tenure as Governor of West Java, he had no connection with Siti Aisyah, especially the alleged corruption case that dragged Siti Aisyah away in 2017 where she had no responsibility as the Governor of West Java.

"So if you want to be connected to us, yes not at that time too. My era was very strict in supporting the handling of corruption from the KPK, not selective and we will respect the law," he said.

In addition, Kang Emil also ensured that Siti is now no longer an Independent Commissioner of Bank BJB Syariah. After previously he was elected as an independent commissioner and carried out various activities with Bank BJB Syariah.

"Now he is no longer a commissioner," said Kang Emil.

The figure of Siti Aisyah Tuti Handayani is a female politician from the Golkar Party who was born in Bekasi on July 22, 1979, and is the daughter of former Bekasi Mayor Akhmad Zurfaih.

In the 2004 Legislative Election or Pileg, Siti Aisyah succeeded in becoming a member of the Bekasi City DPRD, and she successfully made her way to the legislative seat in West Java Province in 2014-2019.
