The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has summoned four suspects suspected of being involved in a corruption case within the Semarang City Government, today, Friday, January 17. One of the suspects is the Mayor of Semarang, Hevearita Gunaryanti Rahayu, who is familiarly called Mbak Ita.
Apart from Mbak Ita, there are three other suspects, namely her husband, Arwin Basri who also serves as Chairman of Commission D of the Central Java Provincial DPRD; Martono, who is the Chairman of the Indonesian National Construction Implementation Association (Gapensi) Semarang City; and Rachmat Djangkar, a private party.
"The summons for the four suspects are scheduled for today," said KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardhika, to reporters on Friday, January 17.
Currently, only one suspect has been present, namely Rachmat Djangkar, who was seen entering the KPK's Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta.
In this case, the KPK previously succeeded in winning the pretrial filed by Mbak Ita. The South Jakarta District Court rejected the pretrial lawsuit filed by Mbak Ita on Tuesday, January 14.
The KPK has started investigations into three alleged corruption crimes within the Semarang City Government, namely the procurement of goods and services at the Semarang City Government in 2023-2024, the alleged extortion of civil servants related to incentives for collecting taxes and levies in the Semarang City area, as well as the alleged receipt of gratuities in 2023-2024.
KPK investigators have also conducted searches in various locations, including in the cities of Semarang, Kudus, and Salatiga.
From the search, documents and cash worth Rp1 billion, 9,650 euros, and dozens of watches allegedly linked to this case were found.
