Joint Team Continues Search For 3 Kobal Ships Sinking In Tanakeke Takalar Tomorrow

A joint team searched the uninhabited island to search for three victims of the Harapan Jaya Motorboat that previously sank around the waters of Tanakeke/ANTARA HO Basarnas Makassar

The joint Search and Rescue (SAR) operation team is still searching for three victims of the Harapan Jaya Motorboat that sank around the waters of Tanakeke, Takalar Regency, South Sulawesi.

"The results of the search on the third day are still nil. God willing, tomorrow (Friday, 17/01) at 07.00 WITA we will continue our search again," said Head of the Makassar Class A Search and Rescue Office (Basarnas), Muhammad Arif Anwar, as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, January 16.

The search for victims was divided into three SRUs (Search Rescue Unit). Search for SRU 1 from Sunari Beach combed up to 6 NM (Nautical Mil) to the south and combed towards uninhabited islands,

Meanwhile, SRU 2 conducted a search in the waters of Bahuluang Island as far as 49 NM to the south, and SRU 3 carried out a search on foot combing Apa Batu Beach 7 kilometers to the south, but the results still failed to produce results.

The Harapan Jaya Motorboat carrying six crew members (ABK) on theputere-Sumarge Island Port route, Pangkep Islands reportedly sank around the waters of Tanakeke, Takalar Regency.

"There are still three more people in search by the joint SAR team. Today the search is maximized until the afternoon at 17.00 WITA. If it is still not found, the search will continue tomorrow, on the second day," he said.

The ill-fated ship departed on Friday, January 10, 2025 at around 00.00 WITA, then reportedly drowned suspected of having a leak in the left hull after being hit by waves during bad weather in the ocean.

For data on survivors, it was found that the fishermen, each Suraes Desalle (46) Daeng Mamba (50) and Ippan (27). The three of them survived for several days by eating seaweed while floating in the middle of the sea using fish storage cyclones.

While the other three victims have not been found, namely Unyil (42), Agus (50), and Pai (42). The three crew members are still in search of a joint team on the first day of SAR operations.
