KARAWANG Polres Kabupaten Karawang, Jawa Barat, menetapkan seorang kepala desa sebagai Daftar Pencarian Orang (DPO) terkait dugaan tindak pidana penggelapan.
The head of Tanjungbungin Village, Pakisjaya District, named Enjun (51), has officially been included in the DPO after being absent three times from the summons for questioning as a suspect.
The Head of Public Relations of the Karawang Police, Ipda Solikhin, said that this case began with allegations of embezzlement from the 103 hectares of land lease in Tanjungbungin Village, Tanah Baru Village, Solokan Village, and Tanjungmekar Village, Pakisjaya District.
"The motive is embezzlement of land leases to victims. We hope that the perpetrators surrender, or the public who knows the whereabouts of the suspect can immediately report to the Karawang Police," said Solikhin, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, January 15.
This case was reported by the family of the heirs of Haji Chaerudin bin Muhammad Sani through a police report numbered LP/B/483/III/2023/SPKT/Polres. The heirs expressed their gratitude for the steps taken by the Karawang Police which finally named Enjun as a suspect.
"We would like to thank the Karawang Police for naming Enjun as a suspect. He has controlled, rented out, and is suspected of pawning our family's land without permission," said Ridwan Firdaus, the heir's representative.
This problem began in January 2023, when the heirs' families revoked the land management power previously given to Enjun. However, even though the power of attorney has been revoked, the suspect continues to work on the land and even leases it to other parties without the knowledge of the heirs' families.
The peak occurred in December 2024, when the heirs installed a sign against cultivating land without a permit. However, this action was ignored, and several residents, with the initials J and R, continued to plant the land.
"J and R admitted that they had spent a fantastic amount of money on the suspect, either for rent or pawn. This further strengthens the suspicion that the suspect used the land illegally," added Ridwan.
