JAKARTA PT Integration Transit Jakarta (PT ITJ) has spoken about the viral incident on social media regarding the prohibition of creating video content in Martha Christina Tiahahu's Literacy Park, Blok M, South Jakarta. The prohibition is said to have obtained permission from the Pemuda Pancasila community organization (ormas).
PT ITJ as the manager of the Literacy Park emphasized that it has never cooperated or been affiliated with any mass organizations in the management of the park. They also asked the public to report if they met parties on behalf of the manager to give permission for activities.
"If you get information or complaints about certain parties on behalf of the manager of the Literacy Park while carrying out activities in the park area, report them through the official PT ITJ channel," said VP Corporate Secretary, Legal, & Strategy of PT ITJ, Teuku Firmansyah, in his statement, Monday, January 13.
The report can be submitted via email to [email protected] or directly to security officers on duty in the park area and the Literacy Park operational office.
Responding to the incident, Teuku confirmed that information about the obligation to ask the Pancasila Youth for permission was not true.
"In the operational management of Martha Christina Tiahahu's Literacy Park, PT ITJ is not affiliated with any institution or organization," said Teuku.
This incident emerged after a viral video on social media showed a group of youths being intercepted by an individual when they were about to create video content in the park. In the video, an individual claiming to be a member of Pemuda Pancasila said that the content creation permit must be obtained from the organization.
Later, the person was arrested by the Kebayoran Baru Police. After being arrested, he apologized for his actions and statements that had caused unrest.
"I from Pemuda Pancasila apologize profusely for the video that has gone viral on social media regarding content creation at Blok M Literacy Park. In the video, I said that creating content must get permission from Pemuda Pancasila, and I was wrong," he said.
He added that those who have the right to give permission for activities in the park are the manager of the Literacy Park, not mass organizations.
