Attorney General Denies Competing With KPK: We Both Love This Nation

JAKARTA - Attorney General ST Burhanuddin stated that there were no problems and had good relations with the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

The statement was made after holding a meeting with the Chairman of the KPK, Setyo Budiyanto and his staff at the Attorney General's Office (AGO).

"I also ask my friends for help, there is nothing between us that is sometimes cornered that we are competing, no," Burhanuddin told reporters, Wednesday, January 8.

According to him, there were rumors that the relationship between the AGO and the KPK was not harmonious. The two institutions are said to be competing in the process of taking action against corruption.

In fact, the AGO and the KPK strengthened each other. Coordination and communication are often carried out in efforts to eradicate corruption.

"We are both, we love this nation and both want to eradicate corruption," said Burhanuddin.

On the other hand, at the meeting there were several things that were discussed. The chairman of the KPK, Setyo Budiyanto, said that one of the things discussed was about training to increasing the number of seers of assets resulting from the prosecution of corruption cases.

"Education training then work together to increase relations carried out by the KPK abroad," said Setyo.
