House Of Suspected Perpetrator Of Obscenity In Gowa Damaged, 11 Residents Arrested

Residents in Gowa Regency, South Sulawesi, went berserk and damaged the house of one of the alleged perpetrators of sexual abuse of minors, Tuesday (7/1).

The riots were sparked by the anger of the families of the victims of sexual abuse against the alleged abuse that befell the US (4).

The victim's family, along with a number of residents, vented their anger by destroying the house of one of the alleged perpetrators. Two minors, KH (12) and MY (10), are suspected of being involved in this case.

The Gowa Police Chief, AKBP Reonald Simanjuntak, explained that the damage to the house resulted in heavy damage. The police at the location tried to reduce the situation, but the vandalism continued.

A total of 11 residents suspected of being involved in the destruction have been secured by the Gowa Police Criminal Investigation Unit. Evidence in the form of wooden blocks, chairs that have been damaged, and sharp weapons were also confiscated by officers. "We will investigate further whether they are the main perpetrators or just follow suit," said Reonald.

To prevent further unrest, the police dispersed the crowd of residents and guarded the scene.

Previously, on Monday (6/1), the Women and Children Protection Unit (PPA) of the Gowa Police Satreskrim had examined the victim and arrested two suspected perpetrators who were also children. "The victims and perpetrators are both minors. Currently, we have secured the two suspected perpetrators for the investigation process," said the Police Chief.

The police continue to try to handle this case legally and urge the public not to take judicial action on their own.
