KPK Denies PDIP Allegations Of Search At Hasto House For Transfer Of Issues

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has confirmed that the search of the house of the PDI-P Secretary General (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto in Bekasi, West Java, today is not a form of diversion of the issue. Investigators must have an assessment to make this forced effort.

"All search, confiscation, and other activities depend on the fulfillment of the elements of the case being handled," said KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardhika to reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Tuesday, January 7.

Tessa said that the investigator's activities were also confirmed not to be related to the issue of the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo (Jokowi) being included in the list of corrupt figures according to the Organizational Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP) version. The accusation of a KPK search at Hasto's house was a form of transfer of issues was conveyed by PDI-P Spokesperson (PDIP) Mohamad Guntur Romli. He accused the forced effort to close the issue of Jokowi being included in the list of world corrupt figures.

"The search of the house of PDI-P Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto by the KPK in Bekasi, for us, is an effort to divert issues from the OCCRP announcement that places Jokowi as the most corrupt finalist in the world in 2024," Guntur said in his statement, Tuesday, January 7.

Guntur admitted that he received information that Jokowi was currently disturbed and angry with the accusations. Jokowi, according to Guntur, is trying everything to cover it up by deploying buzzers and intimidation.

Previously reported, the KPK has named PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto and Donny Tri Istiqomah as PDIP cadres and lawyers as suspects in alleged bribery related to interim shifts (PAW) for members of the DPR.

They are suspected of participating in bribing former KPU commissioner Wahyu Setiawan to smooth Harun Masiku's move to become a member of the council.

In addition, Hasto is also a suspect in the obstruction of the investigation. He allegedly carried out a number of ways to make the case unfinished, one of which asked Harun to damage his cellphone and run away after the arrest operation (OTT) was held.
