JAKARTA - Head of South Jakarta Police, Kombes Azis Andriansyah, revealed that the man with the initials G who was about to break into the Russian embassy had a mental disorder.

"Indeed, in this one year there was a bit of mental disorder. We have not conducted further tests but this is a family statement," said Azis Andriansyah as quoted by Antara, Thursday, April 15.

Azis explained that his family was present during the initial investigation when G was taken to the Setiabudi Metro Police after being arrested by security officers at the Russian Embassy.

The mental disorder, he continued, was also shown when the 34-year-old man could not clearly answer questions from Setiabudi Police officers when he was examined.

Based on family information, he continued, G, who did not have a job, was also known to have a strong desire to go to Russia.

This was discovered after G often inquired about the country which is famous for its red bear.

"The person concerned (G) often searches Russian culture and probably wants to go there. Family members also do not understand to what extent he wants to go to Russia," he said.

Previously, security officers from the Russian embassy arrested G, who forced him to enter the Russian embassy in the Kuningan area, Setiabudi, South Jakarta, at around 08.15 WIB.

Azis Andriansyah added that G's arrival at the Russian Embassy was the third time with unclear objectives.
