JAKARTA - Do you want to try breaking the fast in the style of a sultan, different from the usual and memorable? Try Iftar in the Sky, an exclusive iftar service program brought to you by the global private airline Jetex based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE).

For 66,000 United Arab Emirates dirhams, you'll be exploring thousands of feet in the air on a private jet over (UAE). Iftar in the Sky will be a luxurious once-in-a-lifetime experience, the company said.

Offered from the first day of Ramadan, the experience will start just before sunset. Upon arrival at the Jetex VIP Terminal at Dubai World Central, guests will be transported in a luxury Rolls-Royce to a private jet, from where they will follow the sunset, heading to Abu Dhabi first.

Jetex said it had received special approval for the optimal speed and cruising altitude, so that passengers could enjoy the best view from the aircraft.

Iftar will then be served mid-flight, which will include traditional Ramadan dishes and other dishes served by Bulgari Hotels & Resorts, one of Dubai's five star hotels. Fasting guests, however, had to wait four minutes longer than those breaking their fast on land due to the altitude.

The journey will then continue towards Al Ain and the Hajjar Mountains in the east. Sights to watch out for include Jebel Jais, the highest peak in the UAE and the mountains of Hatta.

Next, you'll get a glimpse of the Arabian Sea and Fujairah before the flight continues towards Ras Al Khaimah, following the Arabian Gulf coastline off Umm Al Quwain, Ajman and Sharjah.

Lastly, guests will enjoy Dubai's world-famous night skyline, including the majestic Burj Khalifa, as well as the Palm Jumeirah and The World Islands, before landing back at the Jetex VIP Terminal.

Done after landing? Not yet. Guests can then enjoy the rest of the evening in one of the lounges at the terminal.

"Iftar in the Sky will give the millennia of tradition a completely new dimension relevant to the 21st century," said Jetex Founder and CEO Adel Mardini, launching The National News, Thursday, April 15.

Adel Mardini said, 10 percent of all the proceeds from the luxury experience paid by consumers, will be donated to charities through Dubai Cares.

"This is a contribution that we make," said Mardini, whose private airline currently has 33 terminals around the world.

For safety and comfort during the COVID-19 pandemic, Jetex said aircraft cabins will be thoroughly cleaned using its signature bipolar ionization technology, before and after each flight. All necessary COVID-19 protocols and social distancing rules will be enforced at all times.

The Iftar in the Sky experience is open to all UAE residents and visitors and will be available throughout Ramadan. The plan, Jetex will also present a sahur package. Interested in trying?
