Husband With Disabilities Kills Wife In Banyumas Charged With Law On Elimination Of Domestic Violence

JAKARTA - The police ensnared a husband who killed his wife in Kedungrandu Village, Banyumas Regency, Central Java (Central Java), with Law Number 23 of 2004 concerning the Elimination of Domestic Violence (KDRT).

"The perpetrator with the initials FA (27) was charged with Article 44 Paragraph 3 of the Law on the Elimination of Domestic Violence with a penalty of 15 years in prison," said Head of Banyumas Police, Police Commissioner Ari Wibowo in Purwokerto, Banyumas Regency, Monday, December 30, confiscated by Antara.

According to him, his party is still investigating the possibility of the perpetrators planning the domestic violence action which resulted in the death of the victim on behalf of Jumirah (27).

Furthermore, he said the domestic violence was carried out by the perpetrator by hitting the back of the victim's head using a British key.

"The method is that the perpetrator commits domestic violence because he is jealous of his wife who is known to have a relationship with another man or cheating," he said.

After hitting the victim to death, he continued, the perpetrator immediately surrendered to the Patikraja Sector Police.

Regarding the condition of the perpetrator who is a person with a disability, the Police Chief said that based on information from the doctor, the FA had been paralyzed in both legs 10 years ago and used a tool to urinate or urinate.

Regarding the chronology of the incident, Kasatreskrim Kompol Adriansyah Rithas Hasibuan said that based on the perpetrator's confession, the domestic violence was carried out when the victim was about to receive a call.

"While the victim was sitting on the floor mattress, the perpetrator hit the back of the victim's head using a British key approximately three times. Next, the perpetrator put his wife's body on the bed and checked the breath of the victim," he said.

He said that after the victim died, the perpetrator tidied up his wife's body and then got ready and ordered an online motorcycle taxi to surrender to the Patikraja Police.

Asked about the possible results of the investigation showing that the domestic violence that caused the victim's death had been planned by the perpetrator, he said his party was still prioritizing the Law on the Elimination of domestic violence in handling the case.

"We continue to prioritize the Law on the Elimination of Domestic Violence," he emphasized.

Although the FA has been named a suspect, Kasatreskrim said that his party did not detain the person concerned because apart from the recommendation from the doctor, there was also a request from the family considering that the perpetrator was undergoing outpatient treatment at the hospital.

The case of the husband's murder against his wife took place in Grumbul Sidayasa RT 02 RW 05, Kedungrandu Village, Patikraja District, Banyumas Regency, on Thursday (26/12) night.

One of the residents whose house was opposite the perpetrator's house, Siran (52) admitted that he did not know exactly what happened because he was not at home.

"Incidentally, I was leaving. My wife and a local resident only found out after an officer came looking for me to take him to the crime scene, so my wife took him to the house and the officers immediately checked the room," he said.

He suspected that the murder was triggered by economic and jealousy factors because the perpetrators who were people with disabilities only worked to buy and sell fried chicken.

"The perpetrator could not walk (disabled) and his income from selling fried chicken was uncertain, while his wife worked as a household assistant in Purwokerto and came home once a week," he said in Grumbul Sidayasa, Friday, December 27.

According to him, his party as a neighbor often tries to reconcile the husband and wife every time they fight.

After being reconciled, he said, the couple returned to living in harmony but in recent times there have been quarrels again.

Until finally, he continued, Jumirah was known to have died because her husband had been killed by her husband using a blunt object in the form of a British key.
