Regarding The Realization Of The 2024 APBD Not Achieved, The Ministry Of Home Affairs To The Regional Government: Check Where Is The Problem?

JAKARTA - Acting Secretary General of the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) Tomsi Tohir appealed to the local government (Pemda) to accelerate the realization of regional budget expenditures and expenditures (APBD) because the current situation is nearing the end of the year.

"Please consolidate. Check again where the problem lies? Why has the realization not been achieved?" said Tomsi in his statement in Jakarta, Monday, December 30, confiscated by Antara.

Based on data compiled by the Directorate General (Ditjen) of Regional Financial Development (Keuda) of the Ministry of Home Affairs as of December 27, 2024, there are areas where the realization of APBD expenditures is still relatively low.

These areas include the Provinces of South Papua, Southwest Papua, Papua Mountains, South Kalimantan, and Central Sulawesi. Based on this data, Tomsi asked the regions to immediately address the problem.

The same thing was also asked for the attention of district and city governments. The reason is, based on the same data, it is known that a number of regions have not been maximal in realizing APBD expenditures.

The areas are Mahakam Ulu, North Halmahera, Bintang Mountains, East Kutai, and Aru Islands. For cities, namely Prabumulih, Pagar Alam, Balikpapan, Bontang, and Subulussalam.

During the meeting, Tomsi appreciated the regions that had maximized the realization of APBD spending.

However, his party asked the local government to pay attention to the realization of spending or the APBD so that the percentage or expenditure can be carried out properly, effectively, and efficiently.

On the other hand, he also asked regions to maximize the use of rice or land that has not been planted for a long time. If possible, district/city governments are encouraged to use the land to increase agricultural productivity.

In terms of financing, according to him, the use of rice fields tends to be more efficient than printing new land.

Tomsi spurred regions to record the potential for rice land in their respective regions. The data will be reported to the Coordinating Ministry for Food Sector to be recommended as an effort to increase food production.

"This means, first calculate how likely it is, make a letter so that there will be steps if it is a lack of water, it means irrigation or pumping or whatever the problem is," he concluded.
