Houthi Leader Claims Hypersonic Missile Launch To Israel Shocking Enemy

JAKARTA - The leader of the Yemen-based Ansarullah group or known as the Houthis, Abdul-Malik al-Houthi called their hypersonic missile launches targeted in Israel a "very important achievement" and shocked the enemy.

"The operation of Yemen's supersonic missile, which penetrates the enemy's system, is a great and very important achievement and the enemy and America is aware of it," Houthi said in a televised address on Thursday evening, launching Mehr December 27.

The Houthis said the launch of their group's hypersonic missile had caused great disappointment among the political and security forces of Israel and the United States.

Tensions between Israel and the United States and the Houthis have risen so far this month. Most recently, Israel managed to intercept the Houthi missile before entering its territory, quoted by Reuters.

Iranian-backed groups in Yemen have repeatedly fired drones and missiles at Israel as an act of solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza.

Last weekend the Israeli military failed to intercept a missile from Yemen on Saturday (21/12) that crashed in the Tel Aviv-Jaffa area. Ambulance services said 14 people were injured.

A spokesman for Iran's Houthi group said they were attacking "military targets" in the Jaffa region with ballistic missiles.

This week, a missile launched from Yemen on Wednesday morning triggered airstrike sirens in an Israeli-occupied central region, prompting millions of settlers to seek refuge for a second straight night.

"The Israeli enemy was shocked by the speed of operation on Yemen's front lines and spoke desperately about it," Houthi said as reported by PressTV.

"When the enemy boasts of the momentum that benefits him, they are surprised by the continuation of operations on the Yemen front lines," he said, stressing Israel was "unable to face us".
