JAKARTA - Mayor of Solo Gibran Rakabuming Raka is committed to improving regional development in Solo to improve award achievements at the Central Java Province level.
"This was me receiving an award for (regional development achievements) 2020, from (the work of) Mr. Rudy (FX Hadi Rudyatmo, the previous Mayor), I just received", said Gibran Rakabuming Raka in Solo, Wednesday, April 14.
Solo city managed to become second place under Semarang city which managed to rank first. Therefore, according to him, it should be the motivation of the Surakarta Municipality to be able to continue to improve regional development.
"It's a whip, it's got to be hard work again. Only runner-up. We'll fix it later, evaluate it again", he said. Gibran admitted that it is not easy to do considering that it is still in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, so the government's concentration is still more on economic recovery.
Surakarta City Government won the Regional Development Award in 2021 in the Category of Best City II.
The award was received by The Mayor of Gibran Rakabuming from the Governor of Central Java Ganjar Pranowo during the Implementation of The Development Planning Deliberation of The Change of Regional Medium Term Development Plan (RPJMD) year 2018-2023 and RKPD of Central Java Province in 2022 at Gradhika Bhakti Praja Building today.

Governor of Central Java Ganjar Pranowo in his direction said the importance of the city/district to have careful planning in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to him, one of the important things is the acceleration of strategic projects to boost economic recovery.
"We must strengthen the synergy between the center, provinces, and districts for economic recovery. Make innovative breakthroughs to increase revenue", he said.
