JAKARTA - Venezuela's Attorney General said 533 people arrested for participating in post-election protests had been released.
As reported by Reuters on Monday, December 16, the Venezuelan government previously said more than 2,000 people were arrested for participating in protests after last July's election, in which President Nicolas Maduro was declared the winner by election authorities.
As of last week, the Attorney General's Office stated that around 328 people had been released.
Human rights groups such as Foro Penal say they have not been able to verify the release.
