The Government Has Prepared 2,794 Security Posts For Christmas And New Year's Holidays 2025

JAKARTA - The government has prepared 2,794 posts to secure the movement of people during the 2024 Christmas and 2025 New Year (Nataru) holidays.

"The TNI, Polri, and stakeholders will certainly join together and we have also prepared 2,794 posts," said National Police Chief General Pol. Listyo Sigit Prabowo at the PTIK Auditorium Building, Jakarta, Monday, December 16, confiscated by Antara.

The National Police Chief said the 2,794 posts consisted of 1,852 security posts, 735 service posts, and 207 integrated posts to secure 61,452 security objects, including churches, shopping centers, terminals, stations, ports, airports, tourist attractions and objects for celebrating the New Year 2025.

The four-star general also said the peak of the Nataru homecoming flow is predicted to fall on around December 21, 2024 and the peak of the second homecoming flow will fall on December 28, 2024.

As many as 110 million people are predicted to carry out mobilization during the Nataru period.

Therefore, he said, the thousands of posts were prepared to ensure that community mobilization, whether for worship or holidays, could run smoothly.

"Nataru's security activities are a combination of various kinds of security, both security related to the community who will carry out homecoming and return. Likewise, security for people who will carry out worship activities and security at the peak of the new year," he said.

On the same occasion, TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto said that the TNI institution had prepared 80 thousand assistance personnel consisting of Army personnel (AD), Navy (AL), and Air Force (AU).

In addition to personnel, Agus said, the TNI has also prepared land transportation such as trucks and air transportation such as Boeing 737 Hercules and helicopters.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Dudy Purwagandhi said that his party would start opening the homecoming post from 18 December 2024 to 5 January 2025.

He also reminded the public to always pay attention to weather conditions in December in planning trips.

"We will always inform the public through media information, so that people can receive information early and can plan trips well," he said.

As for this Monday, the National Police together with stakeholders from ministries/agencies held a cross-sectoral coordination meeting (rakor).

Several other stakeholders who attended the coordination meeting included Minister of Public Works (PU) Dody Hanggodo, Minister of Religion (Menag) Nasaruddin Umar, Head of BMKG Dwikorita Karnawati, and President Director of Jasa Raharja Rivan A. Purwantono.
