Toddlers Fall Into The Ciliwung River In Bogor Found Dead 12 Kilometers From The Incident Location

BOGOR After an intensive search throughout the day, the body of Arjuna (2), a toddler who fell into the Ciliwung River, was found nine kilometers from where he was missing. His body was found on Sunday, December 15 afternoon in Kedungwaringin Village, Bojonggede District, Bogor Regency.

The head of the Bogor City BPBD, Hidayatullah, explained that the victim's body was found by a resident who was fishing in the area.

"Throughout the day we followed the Ciliwung River channel. Incidentally, there was information from an angler who found the victim's body in Kedungwaringin," said Hidayatullah, Sunday afternoon.

After being found, Bogor City BPBD officers immediately evacuated the victim's body and took him to the funeral home in Kebon Kelapa Village, Bogor City.

Arjuna, the son of the couple Hari and Icha, was reported to have fallen into the Ciliwung River on Saturday evening. This incident occurred in Kebon Kelapa Village, RT 05/02, Tanahsareal Village, Bogor City. Based on eyewitness testimony, the poor toddler fell while playing with his car toys.

Search efforts were carried out by a joint SAR team involving BPBD, Basarnas, and various other elements. They follow the Ciliwung River channel from the Warung Jambu area to the border of Bogor City and Regency.

In fact, the dives were carried out at several suspected points, but the search only paid off after residents reported the discovery of the victim's body.

Hidayatullah again reminded parents to be more vigilant about taking care of their children, especially toddlers, to prevent similar incidents. "The victim fell while walking back and forth by hugging his car toys. We urge parents to be more careful in taking care of their children, especially in areas close to rivers or other dangerous places," he said.

Arjuna's body has now been buried in the funeral home for the funeral procession. This tragedy is a reminder for the community of the importance of strict supervision of children in the surrounding environment.
