Ridwan Kamil-Suswono Accept Their Defeat: Congratulations, Mr. Pramono, and Rano

JAKARTA – Jakarta Governor and Deputy Governor Candidates, Ridwan Kamil-Suswono, congratulated the Pramono Anung-Rano Karno pair who were elected as the winners in the 2024 Jakarta Regional Head Election (Pilkada).

The statement was made after the pair decided to accept the recapitulation results of the Jakarta Regional General Election Commission (KPUD).

"We congratulate Mas Pramono Anung and Bang Rano Karno who will lead Jakarta for the next five years," said Ridwan Kamil at the Golkar Regional Executive Board (DPD) Office, Friday, December 13.

In addition, Ridwan Kamil expressed his gratitude to the other Jakarta Pilkada contestants who had competed healthily and provided valuable lessons in democracy.

"Thank you for the very meaningful competition. We also thank Pak Dharma Pongrekun and Pak Kun Wardana who competed with us," said the man who is familiarly called Kang Emil.

The Ridwan Kamil-Suswono pair decided not to file a lawsuit with the Constitutional Court (MK), even though they claimed to have evidence related to a number of alleged violations during the election process. This decision was taken after careful consideration with figures and leaders of political parties.

"The RIDO pair decided to accept the results of the Jakarta Pilkada that have been determined by the KPU. For the sake of peaceful and conducive democratic learning, we choose not to continue to the legal process," said Ridwan Kamil.

For information, candidate pair number 3, Pramono Anung and Rano Karno, won the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada in one round with 50.7 percent of the vote. With this result, they officially lead Jakarta for the next five-year period.
