Explosion On The 28th Floor Of China's Shenzhen Condominium Kills 1 Person

JAKARTA - The devastating explosion that rocked a condominium building in the southern Chinese city of Shenzhen, killed one person. The explosion felt strong in the building around the scene.

The Shenzhen fire department sent 16 fire engines and 80 rescue workers after receiving reports of an emergency.

As reported by Reuters on Wednesday, December 11, a video shown by Phoenix TV television station showed flames engulfing parts of the outside of the building, with thick smoke billowing into the air.

"Suddenly, there was a loud explosion and a desk," said a 30-year-old man surnamed Zhang, who worked in a nearby office building to Reuters.

Beijing News, which is managed by the government, reported an initial investigation showing the gas explosion on the 28th floor of the building as the cause of the fire, although the exact cause is still being investigated.

It was reported that one person fell from the building after the explosion and was taken away by ambulance.
