The TIP Case Is The Ordered Bride And Groom Mode, The Perpetrators Hand Over Hundreds Of Millions Of Money

JAKARTA - The case of a criminal act of trafficking in persons (TPPO) with a letter order brigade mode continues to be investigated. Temporary results were found in fact that the perpetrators lured the victim's family with hundreds of millions of money.

Kasubdit Renakta Direktorat Kriminal Umum Polda Metro Jaya Kompol Syarifah Chaira Sukma menyebut uang itu dijadikan sebagai dowry jika keluarga menyetujui korban bersikawin dengan Warga Negara Asing (WNA) asal China.

"For victims, Rp. 100 million was given, for weddings and dowries by perpetrators, which were obtained from Chinese citizens," said Syarifah to VOI, Tuesday, December 10.

After the victim's family agreed, the perpetrator then presented an agreement letter using Chinese.

The use of foreign language is so that the victim's family is fooled. In fact, when interpreted the agreement contains refunds if the marriage is canceled.

However, Syarifah has not been able to confirm the number of Indonesian citizens who have become victims. The reason is that the investigators are still investigating this matter.

"For the time being, only what the victim can prove first," said Syarifah.

In this TIP case, nine people were named as suspects. They have the initials MW alias M, B, NH, LA, Y alias I, AS, RW, H alias CE, and N alias A.

The suspects were charged with Article 4 and/or Article 6 in conjunction with Article 10 of Law Number 21 of 2007 concerning the Crime of Trafficking in Persons. They face 15 years in prison.
