Arrest 6 Suspected Terrorists Villa Mutiara Makassar, There Is Group Chat Battalion Iman"

JAKARTA - Densus 88 Counterterrorism arrested 6 suspected terrorists related to the suicide bombing at the Cathedral Church, Makassar. They are a group of Villa Mutiara, Biringkanaya, Makassar.

"Densus 88 secures another 6 suspected terrorists is a terrorist group Villa Mutiara in Makassar", Head of Public Relations Division of the National Police Brig. Gen. Rusdi Hartono told reporters on Tuesday, April 13.

The six suspected terrorists had the initials J, D, MS, S, AL, W, and S. They were arrested in the Makassar area this morning.

Based on the interim inspection, they were known to form a WhatsApp group to communicate under the name 'Battalion Iman'.

"Where in the communication in the WhatsApp group they talk about the next Amaliyah (activities) plans", said Rusdi.

"In the WhatsApp group they practice how to make or assemble explosives", Rusdi continued.

From the arrest, Densus confiscated several pieces of evidence including one air rifle used to practice gunfire, 7 mobile phones, and a motorcycle.

Previously, the National Police called the suspected terrorist group Villa Mutiara, Biringkanaya, Makassar using a nearby cluster pattern. The suspected terrorists took their family members.

"The way recruitment is obviously the closest cluster, it's from the family normally", said Rusdi.

In this group, Rusdi is usually the head of the family or father who first belongs to the group. From there, his wife and children were invited in.

This recruitment pattern is called easier to develop villa Mutiara Makassar group.

"The closest thing they're going to bring, it's the easiest part of how to get certain people with these understandings", said Rusdi.
